John has over 30 years of experience in healthcare management, research and development, and medicine. Currently, John is President and CEO of Intellia Therapeutic (NASDAQ:NTLA) and previously spent over 20 years at AbbVie and Abbott Laboratories where he served as the Chief Scientific Officer and Senior Vice President of Research & Development at AbbVie and served as Abbott’s Senior Vice President of Global Pharmaceutical Research & Development since 2008. John serves as a board member of a number of organizations including Intellia Therapeutic (NASDAQ:NTLA), QuintilesIMS (NYSE:Q), and Chimerix (NASDAQ:CMRX).
John received his MD from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Stanford University followed by a fellowship at the National Institutes of Health, and received a BA in Biochemistry at the University of Wisconsin.
